ENT: Hearing, Tinnitus, Hyperacusis and Balance

Dr Williams specialises in the prevention and medical management of hearing loss, blocked ears, ear wax removal, tinnitus (noises in the ears like: ringing or clicking or pulsing) and hyperacusis and balance/ dizziness conditions including Meniere's.

He attends to conditions of the ear canals including ear cleaning under the ear microscope in the office, removal of impacted ear wax, acute and chronic otitis externa (ear canal infection), atrophic neurodermatitis and psoriasis. He treats otitis media with effusion, otic barotrauma of air travel (ear pain when flying), eustachian tube dysfunction, patulous eustachian tube, tensor tympani conditions. He also treats sudden hearing loss, industrial deafness, BPPV, vestibular neuritis, Meniere's and migraine of the ear and superior canal dehiscence (SCD).

Dr Williams provides a range of specialist diagnostic and rehabilitative hearing and balance services and diagnostic audiology including Pure Tone Audiometry (hearing test), Impedance Audiometry, Speech Discrimination, Tinnitus Matching and Computerised Auditory Brainstem Response Audiometry (CERA). Dr Williams also provides help with the prevention and management of otic barotrauma of air travel, Sudden Hearing Loss, Industrial Deafness and Hyperacusis.

Dr Williams has a special interest in Auditory Rehabilitation and has a multi disciplinary programme including hearing aid fitting.

Dr Williams has a special interest in Tinnitus Treatment and Management (WiTT). He is trained in Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) and has developed a multidisciplinary treatment program called WiTT. 

​

Dr Williams has access to a full range of blood testing and imaging to assist with the diagnosis of hearing loss, tinnitus and balance/vertigo conditions.
