DR. Brian Williams

MBBS FRACS LLB MHL FFIN

Dr Williams specialises in the medical management of conditions of the ears, nose and throat and medico legal assessments. 

He is an ENT Physician and Surgeon and is one of a small number of ENT Specialists whose practice is devoted solely to non-surgical medical management of conditions of the ears, nose and throat, and medico-legal assessments of work related and motor accident ENT injuries.

Dr Williams is President of the Australasian College of Ear Nose and Throat Physicians (ACENTP) which he cofounded in 2011. He lectures at ACENTP meetings on medical ENT conditions including tinnitus and tinnitus treatment (WiTT), sudden hearing loss, allergy of the ear, nose and throat, migraine of the ear, nose and throat, balance conditions and vertigo, hearing loss and medico legal assessment of Workers' Compensation and Motor Accidents.  

Dr Williams is a contributor to the ENT chapters of the WorkCover Guides for the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment and Motor Accidents Authority Permanent Impairment Guidelines.

He is editor of the current Australian Society of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery (ASOHNS) “Guidelines for the Assessment of Occupational Noise Induced Hearing Loss”.

Dr Williams was Convenor of the ASOHNS Annual Scientific Meeting 2010 and presented talks on medical management of vertigo (Benign Positional Paroxysmal Vertigo – BPPV), Occupational Noise Induced Hearing Loss, Mastication and Deglutition and Trigeminal Nerve assessment, and Infection Control.

Dr Williams was Federal Chairman of the Audio-Vestibular Medicine Committee of ASOHNS from 2007- 2012.

Dr Williams completed the Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) course run by Pawel and Margaret Jastreboff in 2009.
